Nunney Street Market and Fayre

Yesterday we spent a wonderful day out in a typically English village in Somerset.

Every year, Nunney holds a village Street Market and Fayre. There are over 100 stalls, a craft fayre, live musicians and entertainers- and, yes, there were Morris Men!!
The church opens up its' bell tower to anyone wishing to climb to the top, for the stunning view of the village and its' castle.

Later an elderly gentleman asked if I would mind taking his photograph outside one of the little cottages. He then went on to say that as a child from Bristol, he had been evacuated to Nunney during World War II - the village has changed little since then!

The stalls were fascinating, with plants, antiques and collectables, handmade items, and foods.
Here are my purchases from the day...
The small box holds a set of napkin rings, each handpainted with a cottage garden scene. Two powder puffs. Some pretty vintage china and some old books. A flue cover with an angel on it and not shown, two old wooden airers.
Fab souvenirs from a great day out.
